“Eight Seasons and a Blackbird”

A beautiful nature-inspired programme featuring the Baroque masterpiece 'The Four Seasons' by Vivaldi juxtaposed with the heat of Argentinian tango in Piazzolla's 'Four Seasons of Buenos Aires' and the beautifully evocative work by Emily Doolittle depicting a blackbird singing in the rain. 

"Touched by the Wings of an Angel"

From Biber’s Passacaglia, also known as the ‘Guardian Angel' Sonata to Paganini’s Cantabile and Saint Saens’ imaginative Danse Macabre,enjoy perfect contrasts in this dramatic programme. Ariel Pirotti’s ‘Tango for a Fallen Angel’ was written for Harriet Mackenzie; George Crumb’s Black Angels was feature in the Excorcist, and a choice of Corelli or Hildegaard Von Bingham brings an ethereal early music colour to the second half while Harriet Mackenzie’s arrangements of the Tartini/Kreisler's Devil's Trill Sonata for strings ensures a Devilish element and a strong, dramatic finish.

Nature’s Glory”

Vaughan Williams’ evocative Lark Ascending is paired with Julian Joseph’s violin concerto, written for Harriet Mackenzie inspired by the island of his Father’s birth, filled with jazz rhythms and wonderful harmonies.

“Celoniatus Classics”

A beautiful programme of masterpieces sees one of Mozart’s extraordinary Divertimenti performed alongside Vivaldi’s ‘La Stravaganza’ concerto in E minor, JS Bach and a superb arrangement of Beethoven’s violin concerto by Hindes.

“The Mad Lover”

Eccles’ stunning Mad Lover’s Suite is paired with music exploring romantic love from Amy Beach’s Romance to brotherly love in Part’s extraordinary piece Fratres.
