“A freshness and dynamicism rarely experienced ... brilliantly played with passion, breath-taking virtuosity, imagination and intelligence"

Amici Concert Series, Chichester Cathedral.

A majestic and incredible performance” Sahana Gero, Artistic Director, World Heart Beat Concert Hall, London premiere of Julian Joseph’s violin concerto and Vivaldi Four Seasons

Named after her 1730 Italian violin, International soloist Harriet Mackenzie founded the Celoniatus Ensemble in 2016. She hand-plucked international prizewinners and established professionals – soloists, leaders of orchestras and established chamber music performers to perform alongside her in an innovative chamber orchestra. The group's sold-out debut performance of Piazzolla/Desyanikov's Four Seasons of Buenos Aires at Trinity Laban London was highly acclaimed and has lead to exciting invitations at international festivals around the UK and Europe including performances at Chichester Cathedral; Salisbury Cathedral: the inaugural concert season of the new World Heart Beat Concert Hall in London; the acclaimed 'TunedIn' Series in London; Stamford Arts Centre; Bilbao Festival; Keele University; and a series in Tunbridge Wells as well as live broadcasts on BBC Radio 3.

The group has a wide ranging repertoire from innovative contemporary works that have been written for them – including a new Tango by Argentinian composer Ariel Pirotti and the London premiere of jazz lengend Julian Joseph’s new concerto - to gems of the Baroque repertoire. Celoniatus Ensemble have also worked with exciting soloists such as the Grammy Award-winning Sir Willard White.

Future projects include tours of the United Kingdom and a project celebrating the 1000th anniversary of the birth of William the Conqueror in Normandy, the Channel Islands, Ireland, Denmark and Norway.
